Product engineering
I turn unclear requirements into a product plan, then stay with the work through implementation and release.
About Utsav
I'm Utsav Somaiya, a full-stack product engineer based in Rajkot, India. I currently work at H2H Technologies as a Senior Backend Engineer, leading the technical delivery of YouNegotiate.
My work still begins with code, but it rarely ends there. I move between product requirements, Laravel architecture, Next.js interfaces, AI services, AWS infrastructure, deployment, and the operating details that keep software useful after release.
How the role changed
I started by developing Laravel applications and integrations. As the products became larger, I took on architecture, pull-request reviews, mentoring, deployment, infrastructure, and coordination across teams.
On YouNegotiate, I lead technical delivery across consumer and creditor workflows for identity, account operations, negotiation, payments, and messaging.
I also work on private education and medical products that combine Laravel with FastAPI, OCR, embeddings, pgvector, queues, and structured AI workflows. Those projects taught me where AI is useful, where it needs operational controls, and where normal software is still the better answer.

Daily public activity forms the ridges. A portrait core keeps the signal personal.
What I bring
I work best when the job crosses boundaries. Product decisions, backend systems, delivery, and the interface all need to support the same outcome.
01
I turn unclear requirements into a product plan, then stay with the work through implementation and release.
02
This is where I go deepest: APIs, domain logic, queues, payments, integrations, testing, and code review.
03
I use OCR, retrieval, and structured generation where they solve a real workflow, with controls around the output.
04
I stay involved after the code is merged: AWS, containers, CI/CD, data services, monitoring, and production support.
Beyond delivery
I write about Laravel, Livewire, databases, testing, Git, and the engineering lessons that show up in production work. I have also contributed to Laravel ecosystem projects and spoken at Laravel community events.
I enjoy helping developers with code review, backend architecture, Laravel practices, and the shift from completing tickets to owning technical decisions. Training can be arranged for individuals or small teams.
